Acclaimed Design
Jon and Ros Friedrich form an esteemed and harmonious design team, with unrivalled knowledge of Brighton.

Jon Friedrich and wife Ros Friedrich are a matchless team. The two ensure a unified approach is brought to all projects, with Jon responsible for the architectural vision, and Ros for the interior detailing of each residence. From outside to inside, Delano affords a luxurious living experience. The project is designed to invigorate occupants from the moment they enter their residence.

The Friedrichs, who are widely-known for designing some of Brighton’s most notable mansions and private residences, bring an advantageous point of difference to this project – that after years of designing standalone residences for families,, the two have the desires and needs of homeowners at the front of their minds throughout the entire design process. Created to achieve both practicality and aesthetic brilliance, Delano exemplifies the benefits of having one design office conceive both the architectural and interior elements of a residential project.

Delano’s facade is one of beautifully grand and linear proportioning, similar to many of the iconic residences throughout this prestigious part of Melbourne. Meticulous detailing and respect for orderly symmetry is seen in the architecture, resultant of Jon’s unparalleled experience designing lavish private residences.

A fence of fine detail provides privacy to the residences while presenting a dynamic frontage to the street. The facade is composed of rendered brickwork, enhanced by dark bronze window framing and surrounding tilework. Beyond the striking exterior are homes providing the opportunity for total rejuvenation.

Sketches are refined and perfected by Jon Friedrich; a labour of love.

Each residence is graced with its own generous terrace space, to enjoy moments of celebration out in the open.

Jack Merlo and his much sought-after team have employed a respectfully charming landscaping palette for Delano, deriving from the company’s innate understanding of the City of Bayside. Collaborating with the architects, Delano is a project where outdoor spaces reflect the beauty found within the actual residences. The selection of vegetation mirrors that found throughout the streets of Brighton and its neighbouring bayside suburbs, present at every opportunity it can be implemented.

Evergreen trees provide generous screening to the residences, surrounded by a beautiful mix of planters and floral additions. A diverse collection of plants work in harmony to pay homage to the verdant domain Lindsay Street is renowned as. White Indian hawthorn trees, bougainvillea, irises, jasmine and magnolia trees are a mere some that contribute to a landscaping palette of the highest calibre.

A refined, natural and timeless palette of materials forms Delano’s residences.

Ros Friedrich’s extensive experience in composing stunning interior spaces is seen in Delano’s residences. A palette inspired by the project's bayside location, residents will find homes of travertine, natural stone, oak herringbone flooring and antique brass-finished handles to make for modern homes, with traditional touches.

Delano’s residences achieve balance between the offering of well thought-out communal and private spaces. While the open plan kitchen and living area remains the centre point of each home, private wardrobes and study settings deliver places for quiet time, too.

Natural stone benchtops form elegant kitchen settings.
As the centre of the home, kitchens are crafted to be spaces of luxurious convenience.

These light, bright and inviting settings provide the perfect space to inspire culinary masterpieces. Kitchens are equipped with European appliances, coming in the forms of an oven, steam oven, induction cooktop and coffee machine, making for smoothsailing experiences, regardless of whether you are cooking up a storm or making a quick coffee in the morning.

Adding to the heart of the home, ample pantry space is incorporated to store the most loved of ingredients. Elevating these settings are beautiful Neolith Estatuario stone benchtops, alongside an island bench unit, which shares the same stone. The island also features a void that allows space for seating, creating spaces of engagement and harmony.

Hellenic Republic.

25/27 Church St, Brighton VIC 3186

For the first time, Hellenic Republic has opened on the southside. It rarely needs an introduction – the restaurant is the culinary masterpiece of George Calombaris. Dishes honour the traditions of generations before Calombaris who gifted beautiful combinations, techniques and, consequently, brilliant recipes.

The restaurant wraps diners in rich aromas that travel through the space, be it from the saganaki with peppered figs or the succulent roasted lamb shoulder. Complementing its bayside surroundings, the restaurant references the sea through food and design, its fit out founded on a palette of white and blue, reminiscent of the where the sea meets land – precisely what the Greek flag is based upon.

Gold Moon encapsulates the diversity of Chinese cuisine on its extensive menu covering house-made yum cha, plates of fresh seafood, and spicier northern-style lamb dishes.
